last Saturday on Jan 14th,
i had the opportunity to take pictures of Chingay
which is Singapore's annual street parade,
which showcased local and foreign talents.
filled with beautiful costumes,
amazing lights and
breathtaking performances.
this year is particularly special because it's on waterway.
my hall (Temasek hall) got accepted to perform along with Eusoff hall.
and yay! i got to photograph the full dress rehearsal.
there are so many pictures that i've decided to do three separate blog-posts about it.
1) preparation
2) group shots
3) performance
hopefully i can complete them!
here goes part 1: Preparation
the dancers had to put on make-up.
i always love taking these pictures.

the very talented make-up artists putting on floral make-up for the dancers

the costumes were very colorful

the theme of temasek/eusoff hall was the vibrant and colorful life of NUS.
so the idea was that freshmen who enters NUS are like caterpillars.
but after NUS and hall experience, everyone is transformed into butterflies.
colorful, happy and vibrant.
so the dancers had to put on wings. it looks very very beautiful but heavy.

the site of Chingay 2012 is the Singapore's F1 track.
the team doing last minute preparation getting all the props from the bus.

last minute touches for the dancers :)

that's about it.
oh!
the float!
it's super cool!
it's decorations over a lorry.
it took several months to make it from recycled materials.
beautiful!! :D

Parts 2 and 3 coming up!
